Meet Mads

Here’s where it all began….

My family has called the mountains of Montana home for over a century, and I’m proud to have the Wild West running 5 generations deep in my veins.

I come from a long line of creators. Painters, welders, photographers, woodworkers, chefs, and full-time artists who taught me that building something with your hands is sacred work. My mom made clothes and sold them at the local farmers markets. Her father had a talent for more mediums than I can count. My dad can build anything with metal. His father is the reason I love wood burning. My sister showed me the essence of capturing a moment on camera and my Aunt Shelly showed me what it means to master multiple crafts, live boldly and create from the heart. I owe everything to them!

In 2014, I started selling beaded bracelets made from seed beads and fishing line. From there, the mediums spread.

I broke down old bike chains to make earrings, stitched beaded fringe onto my favorite worn-out bandanas, painted every plant pot and skull in sight. Transformation is my true medium. And I’m hooked!

The Mad Haus is as much a physical place (my shed-turned-studio) as it is an energetic reminder - to keep it weird, wear the color, and to brave this wild world with your head high and your heart true.

Everything I make carries a tiny piece of me - every thread and bead and stitch is weaved with love, wisdom, and wonder. From my corner of this mad world to yours!

Thank you for being here - you are always welcome at The Mad Haus
